Local Artist Showcase and Coffee During Comic Con

As Comic Con approaches some are still scrambling for tickets, others have volunteered their slave labor, and other are just plain excited. Another exciting event happening outside Comic Con is the Local Artist Showcase at the Village 631 in the East Village Saturday July 14th.

Some awesome artists who may not have made it to the convention floor will gather for good food, coffee, wine, art and fun at the Village@ 631, near 9th and Market. A short 10 minuite walk from the front of the San Diego Convention Center, the Village @ 631 will offer amazing artisan food deals and drink specials, a chill place to escape the crowds, prime balcony for people watching, and some local artists offering their wares for sale. Specials will run all day and the artist will be set up from 2pm to 8pm. Check out some of the local artist, including some of the North Park Craft Mafia Girls who will be showing,

ArtistTree Studio & Art Marketplace

     ArtistTree Studio & Art Marketplace, a new fixture in San Marcos, offers a variety of wonders for the creatively minded (that's you!)

   


     What exactly can you do at ArtistTree Studio?  The list goes on and on:

     Take a class!  Interested in needle felting, ceramics, glass fusing, etc?  ArtistTree Studio offers classes in all of these and more- check out their website for a monthly list (http://artisttreestudio.com/events.html )  My favorite part: all materials and tool use are included in their reasonable fees.

      Drop off the kids!  The "Creativity Cafe" is ArtistTree Studio's summer art camp for kids.  They promise quality art classes for kids (call 760- 471-7450 for more details)

     Go to their Open House! This Thursday, June 21st, from 6-8 pm you can visit ArtistTree Studio & Art Marketplace at 1001 W San Marcos Blvd, Suite 190 San Marcos, CA  92078 and see what they're all about for yourself.  They will be serving complimentary refreshments and you can watch mixed-media artist Karin Bovee in action.  How fun!

Monsters Under the Bed

“What was that noise? Did you hear something? I think it’s coming from under my bed!!!!! Wait!!!! What was that? Is that a rock band? It couldn’t be!!!!  There’s nothing under there . . . or is there?” Come join in the hullabaloo and see what’s hiding under there! Join Tommy as he discovers those whimsical creatures hiding out under his bed and learns a lesson that not all monsters are bad.

Performed at the Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater, located in Balboa Park, the new show Monsters Under the Bed is about to take place. From June 13^th -17^th the show will run Wed – Sunday at 11:00, 1:00 and 2:30.  Produced by Julie's Puppet Creations.
