Whispers of the Forest

The beautiful song of a bird. The tantalizing hiss of a snake. Playful screeches from a troupe
of monkeys. The sounds of rain. All combined with larger than life puppets Whispers of the Forest comes to life. Come see the Great Gamoola, the 9 ft. tall talking tree, at the Marie HitchcockAdd Image Puppet Theater in Balboa Park from March 28th to April 1st, as he tells the story of how he was once in danger of the woodcutters axe. Will his animal friends be able to save him?

A show for all ages, young and old, the larger than life puppets will capture the imagination of the audience as each puppet comes to life. Puppetry is a form of theater that has been around for hundreds of years. It is a way to bring visualization to a story being told. Performed at the Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater, the longest continuously running puppet theater in the United States, Whispers of the Forest is a full stage puppet show consisting of both marionettes and other styles of puppetry. This show is both educational and entertaining combined into one experience. So come see Whispers of the Forest in action and help save the Great Gamoola from the woodcutters axe.
Hear the beautiful song of the pheonix.
See the praying of the mantis.
Or hear the grubbing chant of the warthog.
