We are so excited about our upcoming event, the Holiday Hit List , happening this Saturday, December 8th, at the fantastic Bar Pink Elephant! As noted in this week's Citybeat, this is shaping up to be an amazing time had by all, so make plans to stop in and join us!

Goodie bags!

We here at the North Park Craft Mafia are working overtime to make the Holiday Hit List the premier shopping experience of the season! As part of this gala event, we are putting together goodie bags for the first 100 people in attendance. We are looking for businesses that would love to feature their amazing swag in our goodie bags--stuff like small samples, coupons, buttons, stickers, magnets or other products that would be fun for people to get in a grab bag. If you are interested in this great way to promote your business, please email us, and we will tell you where to send your fantastic goodies! Act quickly, however; all promo items are due December 1st!

There is only one week left to apply to be part of our holiday extravaganza, the Holiday Hit List , to be held at the fabulous Bar Pink Elephant in North Park.  Forget the overrated holiday mall experience!  Come relax with us, sip a cocktail or two, and peruse the fantastic handcrafted merchandise provided by crafty vendors who will be there selling incredible, hand-crafted items for those on your shopping "hit list", as well as a DJ to provide some hit tunes, a fashion show- and other surprises.  Be there, or be square!

Southern California Fires

The entire county of San Diego, as well as a large portion of Southern California, has been under siege by raging wildfires since last Sunday. The members of our group have been lucky; only one of us had to be evacuated, and she and her family are safe. Our hearts go out to those who have suffered any losses, or anyone who has been displaced during this tragic event. For anyone who would like to help out, we encourage you to refer to this page for a list of reputable organizations to contact. Also check out the Alpha Project, an organization that helps out the homeless. They are distributing masks and water to homeless people who are unable to find shelter from the unhealthy air and heat.

The holidays are coming!

The premier event hosted by the (San Diego) North Park Craft Mafia will be a holiday shopping extravaganza--The Holiday Hit List! We've teamed up with our friends at the fabulous Bar Pink Elephant, in North Park, to bring this event to you. The Holiday Hit List will be a shopping encounter quite unlike the typical frantic, nerve-racking mall experience. Who needs that when you can relax with us, sip a cocktail or two, and peruse the fantastic handcrafted merchandise of the Holiday Hit List? We'll have a squad of crafty vendors who will be there selling incredible, hand-crafted items for those on your shopping "hit list", as well as a DJ to provide some hit tunes, a fashion show, and other surprises. Not only will you be able to enjoy some fantastic drinks and music, you can get your holiday shopping done at the same time. Don't miss it!

On Oct. 17th we'll begin accepting applications for vendors who want to join up with us to make the Holiday Hit List the event of the season. Check out our FAQs page for more info and our website for updates!

Attention all toy dog fanciers and people who love 'em!

Toy Dog Fanciers of North San Diego County will hold its ninth and tenth Toy Group Dog shows on Saturday and Sunday, October 6 and October 7, 2007, at the Del Mar Horse Park, 14550 El Camino Real in Del Mar, California. Our very own Belle Pepper Couture will be on hand to handle any small dog accessory needs. Check it out!

It's a big weekend in San Diego!

If you are looking for something exciting to do this weekend, check out the 26th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair this Saturday and Sunday, September 29 and 30. This event covers 8 blocks of Adams Avenue and is Southern California’s Largest FREE Two-Day Music Festival, offering over 70 live music performances on six stages, three beer gardens and over 300 Arts & Craft and Food vendors. Many prominent local performers will be featured, as well as some national acts, like Mike Watt and Wanda Jackson. Good times for the whole family!

Also, don't forget to see the San Diego Derby Dolls live in action at their bout at Skateworld in Linda Vista, this Saturday, September 29. Doors open at 5 pm and the bout starts at 6 pm. Tickets are available at the door or at the Derby Dolls website.

Our first event! Come out and see us!

The North Park Craft Mafia will be participating in their first event this upcoming weekend! Join us for Oktoberfest 2007, Saturday and Sunday, September 22 - 23 in the Balboa Park Club Ballroom, 1450 El Prado in fabulous Balboa Park. This fantastic festival is put together by the International Dance Association of San Diego County. The fun starts Saturday, September 22 from 1-4 pm with free beginner’s dance lessons. Then on Sunday, September 23, from 12:30 to 4:45pm, don’t miss the costumed dancers performing traditional folk dances. Dancing, vendors and great German food—fun for the whole family! Hello! Here we are!

The North Park Craft Mafia was founded in the summer of 2007 by independent entrepreneurs Teresa Salazar of Velvet Klaw, Penni Hawkins of p-starr products, and Svea Komori of Belle Pepper Couture. The NPCM was founded with the intent of DIY businesses working together to promote and encourage each other while celebrating the individual talents of each member. Our group is dedicated to the support of each other, as well as that of North Park, a growing community in San Diego that upholds arts, culture and entertainment while preserving its unique history. Right now, it’s just the three of us but we may add new members in the near future. We are in the process of planning events where we can meet and mingle with all of you! We are proud to be a member of the Craft Mafia family!
